35mm film photography slows me down. I believe it's not just about capturing a moment with a camera. I always aim to improve my 'inner eye' trying to focus on what's happening beyond the picture I'm about to take. what's the surrounding made of, how does the model fit. simple experiments play an important role in what I'm trying to create: an authentic photograph.
Muli & Hase has been the ongoing working title for my projects in 35mm since early 2014 when I moved from Germany to Canada. what started as a trip with my, then young, dog Muli has turned into the journey of my lifetime alongside my wife and inspiration April Winter and from 2015 on Muli's son Hase. not all, but a lot of my photography evolves around them, at home, but preferably on the road exploring and finding new horizons. Since 2017 I've settled with my family on a somewhat rural island called Mayne within the Southern Gulf Islands on the West Coast.
